helping hawaii s homeless keiki (West side)

Warmest aloha (:
There is a GREAT need for baby items, especially diapers, wipes, shampoo, soap, etc for homeless keiki. As a school, we participated in a community outreach program to offer cleanup assistance, first aid, and donation items to an enormous homeless population. While clothing of all sizes were greatly appreciated, I noticed an even greater demand for hygiene supplies, pillows & linens, and playpen type baby items that many charitable foundations are required to not accept due to liability purposes. Imagine camping permanently...what would you absolutely need? Bug spray, tampons, toothpaste, Ziploc & trash bags, toilet paper, deodorant, etc. would be greatly appreciated. HUNDREDS of local people are living in filthy conditions amongst bedbugs, roaches, mice, fleas, centipedes & scorpions, as well as ticks from keawe trees.

While we're all entitled to our opinions about homelessness in Hawaii as an undeniable topic, PLEASE, let's keep this positive & full of good intentions. Rest assure, donations will be delivered on a weekly basis, and will always serve to lift the spirits of those in most need. Meeting in pearl city or ewa beach to accept items you'd like to share, would be best, perhaps one day per week. So please, raid those bathroom cabinets, gather extra coupon goodies, don't throw out your portable playpens, and let's help hawaii's homeless. Thank you for opening your hearts. Losing ourselves in helping others, is where we often find our true. :)
